The right foods can help prevent illness by ensuring that your body is in shape to battle infections, such as a cold or the flu. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, they are rich in immune-boosting antioxidants like vitamin C. Berries, mangoes, papayas, melons, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, and broccoli. Brightly colored produce, like peppers and strawberries, also contain beta-carotene, which the body converts to vitamin A, another antioxidant that helps build immunity.

An even greater form of antioxidants are polyphenols. Polyphenols can be found in green tea. Green Tea Plus has 90% polyphenols, the largest amount of polyphenols available in green tea today.
