March 3, 2006, Newsletter Issue #44: Vegetables Build Up Your Blood

Tip of the Week

Just as living creatures need blood to exist, plants need chlorophyll. Chlorophyll has also been called "plant blood" because itīs almost identical to hemoglobin, the part of human blood that carries oxygen. Statistics show that getting more chlorophyll can increase levels of oxygen-carrying red blood cells in people with anemia. This is an energy-draining condition that occurs when the body doesnīt get all the oxygen it needs.
