March 31, 2006, Newsletter Issue #47: Green Tea, Wine, and Heart Disease

Tip of the Week

Super antioxidants and flavinoids in wine help keep blood vessels clear of plaque that constricts or closes vessels, leading to cardiovascular disease or heart attacks. Studies have shown that resveratol, found in red wine, adds to the wealth of scientific evidence that a glass a day keeps the doctor away.

A red wine with the highest rated levels of resveratol, is pinot noir. Cabernet sauvignon rates much lower.
